Jersey flew to Southampton and returned on the same day to compete against England in the first ever Sandbanks Cup.  The result was satisfying yet disappointing.  England's match fitness eventually edged out the Jersey lads in a close fought game.  Jersey were in fact leading 2-1 at one stage before England managed to turn the scoreline around.  The Jersey squad is hoping to repeat the trip to Sandbanks in 2012 as the event is set to become a permanent fixture on the Beach Soccer Calender.
